When 2022 started, Sumeeti and I stumbled upon a Reddit post where a person shared a screenshot of how 2021 went for them. It was a spreadsheet layout with one cell dedicated to each day of the year, and painted as per a legend indicating how the day went - ranging from "Great" to "Awful".
We found it a very interesting exercise to try for 2022. And here it is - my own 2022 year-in-review where I've painted the cells based on how each day went. 😊
While most days I could manage to paint it at the end of the day, there were many patches when I missed to do it on a daily basis and then would do it for a few days together.
How was the experience? Anything I learned? It was a nice homework to do on a regular basis. It felt good to take that moment to reflect at the end of the day and paint it on the sheet. I don't know if the exercise was helpful, but it certainly taught me that most of the days, weeks and months weren't as bad as I thought they were. 😄
If you find this exercise interesting and worth checking out, feel free to try it out yourself in 2023. Maybe you'll learn something in the process. 🌻
Happy New Year!
